Cornwall Film Festival

November 8 - 11
Newquay, Cornwall

What’s it all about?

Four screens, four days, one fabulous party. The Cornwall Film Festival is an annual celebration of Cornish and international filmmaking. The Festival offers local and national premieres, professional development workshops, lectures and parties, providing the opportunity to network with the UK’s leading industry professionals.

What happens?

Taking place in the new state of the art Lighthouse Cinema in Newquay, the festival remains a unique event in UK filmmaking and exhibition. It is the only film festival that nurtures professional development of students and established filmmakers. On offer are British and international feature films, many in preview and Cornish features, all with Q & As, British and international documentaries, over 100 Cornish and international short films, including competition screenings in six genres, special screenings including surf, archive and Cornish and Celtic-language films, plus workshops, talks and parties from Thursday to Sunday.

How can you take part?

With films from all over the world, workshops which include sessions on stop-frame animation, drama college auditions, casting and screenwriting for female characters and guest speakers taking part, there really is something for everyone who loves the movies. Sit back and enjoy screenings of feature films based on award-winning books, shorts by Cornish filmmakers, dance films and documentaries. Just don’t forget the popcorn.
